Heathrow Airport, London
The British Airport Authority (BAA) demands that
every road at Heathrow Airport is kept clean 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. Wooldridge has provided road-sweeping services
at the airport since 2000.
The construction services company was
selected because of its previous experience and solid track record.
Wooldridge’s services involve civil and air-side road
sweeping for the runways and taxiways across the whole airport
site. Using security-cleared operators and the latest plant,
it clears and maintains the northern and southern runways as
they are extended and the taxi ways as they are reinforced in
preparation for new, heavier types of planes. Wooldridge’s
services also extend to Terminal 5 where it cleans the construction
site, all service roads and taxi ways. The road sweepers collect
general day-to-day waste, and old tarmac, dust and debris generated
by the various works.
