Case Study:
Barton Lodge, Berkshire

The multi-million pound property, Barton Lodge, needed extensive renovation and redevelopment to transform into a family residence with private polo facilities.

Working with Wooldridge on commercial projects, the owner had a long-standing relationship with the construction services company and recognised its competitiveness and commitment to achieving the required results.

Wooldridge worked closely with the client and his architects on Barton Lodge from conception and design, site survey and assessment through to completion. The project was phased over two years with a 30-strong team of specialists. Firstly, the main house was refurbished and the swimming pool built. Then Wooldridge carried out clearance, demolition, groundworks, main construction, external works and landscaping for the polo complex.

The owner benefited from cost-effective design and delivery of complex construction within an inflexible schedule, on time and on budget. The family home was refurbished to exceptional standards and the polo complex met the owner’s high specification. This involved constructing a new  coach house including a clubhouse that incorporated a gymnasium, changing areas, games room and staff accommodation, along with a new stable complex and American barn, two polo pitches and irrigation lakes. The project was completed, as planned, to coincide with the start of the polo season.
